the week has flown by. full of birthday. pampering. spoiling. preparation.
and now. the hubs is out of town. sigh. over his birthday. sigh. and darling son is traveling back home. and then home again. to the great state later this month. can't. hardly. wait.
seems like I measure my life in weeks past. weeks to come. to-do lists of projects. people. places. things.
today I finished the sleeping porch. the last coat of polyurethane. been waiting. working. on this room for a very long time. and later in the week I'll do my favorite thing. move in. just you wait and see.
now. I'm going to enjoy the quiet. sit. read. one for now. one for later. these times call for nothing serious.
'a large, still book is a piece of quietness, succulent and nourishing in a noisy world, which I approach and imbibe with a sort of greedy enjoyment, and said of those rooms of his old home whose air was saturated with the bouquet of silence.'
